Augusta rewards a specific skill set. Driving accuracy, iron play to elevated greens, putting speed on bentgrass. The model ranks the field by course fit, weighting historical Augusta performance heavily because the course doesn't change year to year.

Details

Strokes gained approach and strokes gained putting explain the most variance in Masters outcomes. Players who gain strokes on the field in both categories over their prior 24 rounds get the strongest projections. Wind conditions and pin positions are factored in when available.
